Brigitte Herz

Director and Co-Founder

Brigitte is One World’s co-founder and current Director. Graduating with honors from McGill University in English and German literature, Brigitte has dedicated over 30 years to education, teaching students across every developmental stage—from kindergarten, elementary, and middle school to college-level classes. For well over a decade, her innovative methods have trained teachers of all backgrounds in the communicative, game-based learning approach.

Expanding her commitment to holistic student development, Brigitte earned her Master’s in Psychology from Harvard University. During her tenure at Harvard, she developed EmpowerHer, a specialized Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program designed to build confidence, resilience, and emotional intelligence in teenage girls. One World is proud to officially integrate EmpowerHer into its program offerings, furthering Brigitte’s mission to nurture grounded, empowered, and globally-minded young leaders.

Esther Littlefield

Spanish Teacher

Esther grew up in a Spanish-speaking home, but was surrounded by an English-speaking culture in the U.S.. She has been bilingual since birth. She spent her formative years living between Puerto Rico and the US. She holds a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. She has over 25 years of teaching experience for grades K-8 including working with bilingual students at the elementary level, teaching third grade for at-risk students in Rochester and Middle School Spanish at Portsmouth Christian Academy as well as tutoring students in High School Spanish 1 and AP Spanish. Esther teaches both in-school in New Castle and after-school classes.

Guillermo Boxo Cucurny

French and Spanish Substitute Teacher and Mentor Teacher

Guillermo teaches both French and Spanish for us. Guillermo is completely bilingual as a native Spanish speaker who has spent the last 25 years living in Montreal teaching in French. Guillermo is also fluent in English. His teaching career spans 15 years teaching history, civics and geography. This is his sixth year teaching with One World teaching our students the language and culture of Montreal and Spain. Currently teaching in our after-school programs in Madbury and Portsmouth.

Sharon Taylor

French Teacher

Sharon earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in French from the University of New Hampshire, where she is currently pursuing her Accelerated Master of Education degree. Her background spans a wide variety of age groups, making her exceptionally skilled at tailoring instruction to meet every student right where they are. Passionate about community engagement, Sharon also serves as the Vice President of the UNH French Club—organizing cultural events and even representing the organization in meetings with the French Consul General of New England. the Dover school district. She also worked with an educational tour company and is interested in continuing to bring students abroad to learn language and culture firsthand. Marie-Josée is vibrant and fun and we students enjoy her positive energy! Currently teaches our Zoom French classes

Na Lin (Linna)

IT Support

Laoshi Na Lin loves sharing her Chinese heritage and culture with children of all ages and has been making a cultural presentation at area schools for as long as she can remember. Linna is a dedicated teacher who has spent countless hours assisting in her children’s classrooms and is currently a Cub Scout Den Leader. Linna provides IT support for teachers, parents and students.

Natalia Corona

German and Spanish Teacher

Señora Natalia Corona is a native of Mexico and trilingual in Spanish, German, and English. She grew up speaking both German (mother tongue) and Spanish (country of her birth). She brings a great blend of cultures to One World with her dual background. Natalia has an extensive teaching background that spans a KG – adult teaching career. She currently is also employed at the Goethe Institute in Boston as a German teacher. We are excited to be working with her this year and believe the kids will enjoy her “joie de vivre” and believe that every child can be successful in learning a second language!

Yu-Ying Chen (Arin)

Chinese Teacher

Yu-Ying Chen brings a rich background, dynamic life experiences, and a deep passion for language and culture to our One World community. She holds a B.A. in Chinese from National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan, providing a rock-solid foundation in both language structure and teaching methodologies. Arin also earned a Master’s in Mass Communication from National Taiwan Normal University and a Master’s in Ecology and Environmental Sciences from the University of Maine. Her professional background includes working as a research scientist and associate at prestigious institutions like the University of Maine and Harvard University, as well as working as an editor and journalist in Taiwan. Most importantly, Arin loves working with children! In addition to her extensive experience tutoring students in Chinese, she is a proud mother of two young children. Her firsthand understanding of how kids learn and grow helps her create a nurturing, engaging, and supportive classroom where students thrive.

Dr. Lucía Montá

Spanish Teacher

Dr. Montás brings an extraordinary depth of experience, academic distinction, and passion for Spanish language and culture to our program. A native Spanish speaker, she holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky, as well as a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of Florida. In addition to her role with us, Dr. Montás serves as a Senior Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of New Hampshire. Her extensive teaching background spans language immersion, cultural studies, and literature across all student levels. At UNH, she serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Spanish Club and Language Ambassadors, as well as the Faculty Director for the Cuba Study Abroad Program. Dr. Montás is passionate about making Spanish engaging, interactive, and culturally rich for learners. Her welcoming energy and focus on real-world communication help students build confidence and a genuine connection to Hispanic cultures around the globe.

Marie Gurley

Program Coordinator and Community Outreach

With over 20 years of experience in customer service and sales, Marie brings a wealth of expertise, dedication, and energy to One World! She is deeply committed to building strong community connections and exploring exciting new opportunities to expand our reach across the Seacoast area. Marie’s passion for supporting families, fostering relationships, and furthering our educational mission makes her an invaluable asset to our leadership team.

Brandy Hardiman

Social Media Manager, Grant Writer & Board Secretary

Brandy is a Marine Biologist and Marine Educator with over twenty years of experience educating the public about climate change and local marine environments—a passion that even took her to Singapore to focus on local and global conservation efforts. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maine with related coursework from the University of Pittsburgh.

At One World, Brandy wears several vital hats: she helps secure key funding opportunities through strategic grant writing, expands our community outreach through social media, and serves as our Board Secretary.
